Bowtie Floor Lamp

Designed with a ‘personable scale’, the bowtie floor lamp is meant to resemble a companion, rather than a fixture/appliance.
I’ve opted for a physical dimmer switch in the form of a round ball, placed at a comfortable handshake height. The front and the sides of the base are bookmatched, which is to say a single board is split in half and arranged to create perfectly symmetry. The linen shade is capped with an acrylic diffuser, held in place with a decorative finial, to ensure the naked bulbs are never visible to the eye.

Lampshade in polystyrene backed homespun linen, with white acrylic diffuser.
